Reduce-Reuse-Recycle? Styrofoam, ziplocs, mailers, plastic packaging and the latest environmental catastrophe "black plastic"…. The list of materials destined for the black bin is long. Our recycling system is broken, uneven, inadequate and perpetuating health and environmental risks. As individuals in a disposable consumer culture, we are often powerless to cope with the mountains of cardboard, plastic and waste we leave in our wake on a daily basis. This show features artists who use materials otherwise destined for the landfill in their artwork. VAR member Erin McCluskey will show her plastic mosaics in a new installation at The Drawing Center
